Welcome to Crook and Collie, a small business that nestles in the hills of South West Wales, UK. I began my journey to fleece and its many uses with the purchase of a few sheep when we still lived in the midlands. I fell in love with Leicester longwool sheep, a fibre producing breed from our home county. Their personalities and quality fleece just blew me away and we were lucky and found some local to buy. I slowly realised though that I would find it difficult to stick to just one breed. There are so many fantastic fibre producing breeds of sheep out there so I knew I would end up with quite an eclectic flock. I now have a variety of friendly, affectionate sheep that provide me with a lot of gorgeous fleeces to utilise and I also buy in fleece from fellow fibre sheep keepers that have the same or very similar high welfare practises as myself. I specialise in lock by lock felted rugs, giving me greater control over the colours, shape the sizes than just whole felted fleeces, although I do make a few of those too! I have also turned my hand to Viking style items , mantles and rugs, for cosplay events, not traditional Viking attire, just my fleece take on it!
